Gift for an Ex-Girlfriend

My ex-girlfriend invited me to her 25th birthday party two weeks from now. We remained on friendly terms since we parted ways 6 months ago, though I wouldn't say that we are close friends. I have no idea what to give her as birthday present. I guess I want to be careful with my gift since I don't want to send her a wrong message with it. But I'd still like to give her something nice and useful. Suggestions anyone?

Honestly, you don't have to gift your ex a present. You're not obliged to do that anyway. But if you really want to give him a gift, just give something generic like food or a book.
