My girlfriend and me will finally have our first year anniversary on July. But I would like to prepare months before because I want everything to be at least almost perfect for that day. She has been very particular with our relationship because she said this will be her first real long relationship with someone. Everything else is fine for us now but I was just assigned in another city and we are in a long-distance relationship for 3 months now. She's taking it easy. I just want to assure her that nothing bad will happen for our first year so I want our anniversary to be special.

Is it really necessary for children to give gifts to their parents for their anniversary? I mean, it's their anniversary, the occasion is really meant for them so I was just wondering if we really need to get them a gift or something? What do you guys think?

My good friend is throwing a small party to celebrate his and his wife's first year wedding anniversary. I feel I have to give them something for this occasion. I want to give them something meaningful and useful for their marriage. They are a young couple, only in their early 20's, and do not have a child yet.
